LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY: PRE ARRIVAL TIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

• Ensure that you obtain visa clearance from the Indian Embassy/High Commission.
• Kindly check the medical fitness standard before you leave your country.
• Ensure that you carry all the essential documents before jumping on to a plane to India.
• If you coming from New Delhi Airport which is around 325 KM from University, take Volvo Buses which are coming to Jalandhar or you guys can opt. for Indo-Canadian Bus Service. They provide a very good bus service and you can book tickets online. We will be sharing links at the bottom.
• LPU hostels will provide only wooden/steel cot, you have to buys all other stuff like Pillow, Mattresses, Bed covers, Pillow covers and all. Maximum of this stuff are available in the university mall (Yes, LPU is having a dedication mall for students) under Home and House-Keeping. Discounts are pretty good but I will Prefer to get some pillow covers and bed sheets for home.
• If you are not budget constrained, then go for the AC rooms. It will give better comfort and hindrance free studying. (There are other cheap hostel options available check my other posts.)
• After arriving at the University, go straight to the CAD (Counselling and admission Department), they will direct you to the desired location. Make sure that you take along all the fee slips and university admission letter before arriving at the university.
• The electric standard in India works on 240 V. Ensure that you have an adapter for your mobile or laptop if it operates on a different voltage in your country. Also, the electric sockets are 2 or 3 pin,
  to ensure that you guys carry a converter.
• Everything is available in University premises, so don't worry if you forgot something at home. You can easily get into the tuck shops and others. You can also order online through Flipkart and Snapdeal etc.
